Robosys welcomes Robotics Research Scientist from AZTI for technical and collaborative visit
It was a pleasure welcoming Robotics Research Scientist Jaime Valls Miro, representing Spain’s leading research and technology centre, AZTI Foundation, as part of his hosted visit to the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton, where Robosys is headquartered.
AZTI is a scientific and technological centre that develops high-impact transformation projects with organisations aligned with the United Nations 2030 SDGs. Specialising in marine environment and food, AZTI provide cutting-edge and value-added products and technologies grounded in sound science and research.
Charmaine Richardson, of the NOC’s Marine Robotics Innovation Hub’s facilitated Jaime’s visit to the centre, where she arranged interesting visits and meetings which encompassed the NOC site, together with its robotics workshops.
Robosys Automation’s client USV manufacturer, Branka Solutions, has developed an uncrewed craft for AZTI to aid them in their marine research missions. The USV operates with Robosys’ Voyager AI software. The visit presented an ideal opportunity to meet and explore new areas for the two organisations to exchange knowledge.
Jaime commented on the visit to Robosys’ Tech Hub and offices, “it has been enlightening discussing how Robosys can assist AZTI in supporting our ambitions to better deliver intelligent maritime operations for marine research, particularly in Spanish waters where the regulatory bodies still lag compared with other countries in maritime autonomy terms. We look forward to furthering conversations and hopefully collaborating on projects in the future.”
Robosys’ Keith Henderson, agreed, “We look forward to collaborating with Jaime and AZTI and to discuss other ways that we can work together for the greater good of the operational oceanographic sector”.
