Leading developers of Smart Shipping and Maritime Autonomy Software
The Team
We are a leading developer of autonomous marine control systems; autonomous navigation and collision avoidance, dynamic route optimisation, advanced perception and classification systems, propulsion, machinery and helm control systems for government and commercial vessels and workboats.
Aditya Nawab
Aditya Nawab is the CEO, CTO and founder of Robosys Automation.
He has more than 15 years of experience working in the field of robotics and automation in the United States and internationally. He has published numerous papers in reputed journals including IEEE and has US patents under his name.
In the course of his career he has developed several robotic algorithms for the United States Department of Defence and NASA, while working at various organisations. He has wide ranging experience in obstacle avoidance and detection algorithms, computer vision, hardware/software integration, autonomous vehicle development and industrial robotics.
He has done extensive research and developed algorithms for ground robot autonomy. He has implemented algorithms for real-time terrain mapping using stereo vision, grid-based mapping and path planning to support obstacle detection and avoidance techniques. He has developed block-matching stereo correspondence algorithms to compute disparity maps, implemented grid-based path planning algorithms to plan routes around obstacles, and techniques to predict terrain beyond stereo range.
He was one of the few engineers who received training to operate the Special Purpose Dextrous Manipulator (SPDM) at NASA JSC to help find solutions to the problems that astronauts face in space during tele-operations.
Aditya received his M.S in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, with a focus on kinematic algorithms for robots and computer vision. He has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He speaks English, Hindi and Gujarati and lives with his wife Shilpy and their family in Boston, Massachusetts.
